Look Who Came to Town

Mark's mom came to town last week to watch our kids while we headed to San Francisco for the week. On her first night here, we decided to go to Benihana to celebrate Parker, McCall and her birthday. We all had a blast and loved eating all of that yummy food.
Please notice Bayden's applesauce that we brought for him since he refused to eat a single thing served at the restaurant. He was really digging the hat.
The two birthday girls. One in September and one in October.
These guys were so EXCITED.
San, our chef, really impressed Parker with his chopping and shrimp flying skills.
The whole group before we stuffed our faces.
The onion volcano is always a big hit.
Carson asked me to take about 10 pictures of him with his hat like that, so I had to show you one for his sake.
The three birthday kids getting sung too.
On Sunday we armed Gigi with all of the tools she would need to survive the week without us. Parker armed her with nerf guns and insisted on a nerf battle with her and the other kids. Now you can see why my kids adore their Gigi! How many grandma's do you know that would nerf gun battle?
This is how we left the kids for our fun week in San Francisco. I'm still trying to decide who had more fun, us or them.

Last Few Week's Happenings

I actually started this little post about 1 1/2 weeks ago, the day Carson broke the soap dish off of the shower wall, knocked his front tooth out with a Nerf gun and rounded out the day with a bad asthma attack which required a late night visit to the doctor. As you can see I got a bit distracted, so here is a brief summary of the big news the last few weeks.

The quick release fertilizer is working its magic and we are getting lots of veggies from our garden.
Here is a typical picking every 4 to 5 days!
Zuchinni, cucumbers, crooked neck squash, green beans, bell peppers, jalepeno peppers and tomatoes were in this crop.
Parker got his Bear! It was touch and go there for awhile, but I managed to squeeze in the last two requirements on his birthday! I'm not looking forward to his Eagle.
Gracie girl lost her first two teeth. When I was in SLC for my sisters wedding she convinced Calvin to help her get her first two teeth out (I'm a wimp and don't do teeth pulling or twisting.) She was happy as a clam to call me on Saturday August 28th to tell me the news. She was even more excited for that forgetful Tooth Fairy to come and deposit some cold hard cash on her pillow. She learned the next morning that sometimes the Tooth Fairy doesn't get her whole route done during the night and if you are a really good little girl sometimes she will come while you are at church. Sure enough when we returned from church she found some money on her pillow. She was so excited for the cash, she keeps asking me to invite Calvin over so he can help her get her other teeth out for more money...nice.
These two have been inseparable lately. They play grand games together and discuss ways to spend tooth fairy money.
Our sweet friend Perry got his picture hanging device patented. He came over to show his patent the day he got it in the mail. I've never seen a patent before, nor have I have ever seen him so excited! He is a cutie and one of the hardest workers you'll ever meet.
Carson at the end of his challenging day (pre-asthma attack). When Gracie lost her two teeth 4 days later, I think he was secretly happy he knocked his tooth out so that he was one tooth ahead of her in the "losing teeth" race. Since he hit both teeth with the gun, he should be losing the other one any day now, which will put in front 4-2.

We are so grateful for our 5 little friends that keep us busy and make sure there is never a dull moment around these parts.
